Before you start
The Mirza way
Mirza keeps your price at cost by skipping the in-person fitting. Here is exactly what that means.
What you receive
- A suit made to your measurements, in the fabric and style you choose, with a full range of customizations
- Your exact price before you send anything: the cost of making it, plus Mirza's 5% service fee, shipping included
- The option of a basted fitting: a trial suit to try on before your final suit is cut (+$120)
- Guidance at every step, from fabric to fit
What's in your hands
- Your measurements. We show you how to take each one.
- The fit follows your numbers, so we can't guarantee it.
- Any small local alterations, typically $50–$200. A basted fitting makes them much less likely.
- A customs fee on delivery, if one applies (about $20–$25).
Two methods to make your suit
You choose after measuring. A local tailor can easily adjust lengths and waists. Shoulders, jacket length and collar must be right from the start, and a basted fitting makes sure they are.

A local tailor can fix it
- Sleeves too long or short · Easy. With working buttonholes, it's done from the shoulder and costs much more. Typically $20–$45.
- Trousers too long or short · Easy. Longer only as far as the hem allows. Typically $15–$30.
- Trouser waist loose or tight · Easy within about 1 in either way. Typically $20–$40.
- Jacket loose at the waist · Taken in at the back seam. Typically $40–$60.
Only a little can be done
- Jacket tight at the button · Only as far as the seam allowance, often under 1 in.
- Seat or thigh too loose or tight · Taking in is fine; there's little room to let out. Typically $25–$50.
- Leg too wide or narrow · Narrower, yes. Wider, no. Typically $25–$45.
Must be right from the start
- Jacket too long or short · Shorter or longer by about ½ in at most, and it upsets the pockets.
- Shoulders too wide or narrow · Major work, often not worth it. Typically $140–$200.
- Collar stands away from the neck · Hard to fix. Typically $50–$100.
- Back too tight, or the jacket swings forward or back · Often can't be fixed.
A basted fitting gets the red areas right before your suit is made.
Tailor prices are typical US prices, to set expectations. You pay your local tailor directly.
How your request works

- You submit a request. No payment is taken.
- Our tailors confirm your fabric and details.
- You approve and pay, and your suit is made. It arrives in about 4½ weeks, or about 10½ weeks with a basted fitting. Allow a little longer around the holidays.
